WEBINAR OVERVIEW

Auditors are increasingly denying claims for lack of evidentiary support for diagnoses within the medical record and querying for such evidence has long been seen as taboo. But CDI professionals must anticipate which diagnoses are prone to clinical validation concerns, understand the clinical indicators and criteria to be able to assess clinical validity; then they need to craft a query for the physician in a compliant manner that doesn’t either lead the physician to inappropriate documentation or question the physician’s medical decision making process.

In this FREE re-broadcast of her popular session, Clinical and Coding Highlight Series, ACDIS Advisory Board member Erica E. Remer, MD, FACEP, CCDS and Kelly Skorepa, BSN, RN, CDIS, discuss proven strategies behind successfully appealing clinical validation denials, and provide physicians formative feedback to help facilities prevent documentation gaps.
